Throughout my life I’ve travelled alone quite some times and there is no place that I feel more comfortable doing so than Ibiza. I got the question many times, so I thought let’s write a blog about my solo travel experience here!

Going to Ibiza alone as a woman?
In my twenties I tried my first solo trip to Barcelona. At that moment I was fine, but during my last trip I did not feel so comfortable anymore. The big city has definitely become more dangerous (I’ve literally seen a knife attack).
When I’m in Ibiza I always feel safe, even when I walk into the woods alone. For some reason being on an island feels ‘safely secluded’. That doesn’t mean bad things don’t happen, for example there have been fake taxi kidnappings.
So you definitely have to be a bit careful (like everywhere), but for example the taxi system is very clear: there’s only one official taxi that is for sure safe. And there’s more general advise like never leave belongings in your car, cause they might break into it to steal your stuff. It’s also not recommended to wear an expensive watch during your holiday, as they might steal it from your arm.
Besides that you’ll usually have a lot of people around you in most places and most of these people speak at least a little English or even your own language (like Dutch or German) – so that does help with the feeling of safety.

How to solo travel to Ibiza?
There’s a LOT of people who travel solo to Ibiza, because they all feel this 😉 Weather you’re single or just need some time alone: the island is a great place to come. I have experience with both sides, like many people from all ages.
If you come alone (single), but want to meet others, Ibiza is perfect. There are so many fun things to do where you can meet others. Usually (party) people are happy and welcoming, open to fun adventures with strangers.
There’s many hostels where you can stay to meet others and go out together. I stayed two times in Amistat in San Antonio, because it was cheap haha, but it was also a lot of fun! And there’s Facebook groups like ‘Ibiza Solo Travel‘.
Need some time alone? Retreat @ Ibiza
Ibiza is álso a great place for people who need a little time out from daily life. Some people come for some days as a break, some people even for a month or longer to recover from for example a broken heart, depression or burn-out.
When you just want to party San Antonio and Playa d’en Bossa area great. But if you need more peace, then the campo (more inwards) is very calming. The north is also very peaceful if that is what you need.
Ibiza has a very chill vibe that works relaxing for most people, and even healing with the strong energy. Ibiza offers so much more than party and nature is always a good idea! Besides that there’s also many options that can support your relaxation/healing, like an energy session or (day) retreat.
