What to do on Ibiza on a rainy day?

Ibiza is known as a sunny paradise and for a big part that is true, but it can definitely rain (a lot sometimes). Even though summer season is obviously very dry and sunny, it can always happen that you’re surprised with a rainy day. What to do when that happens to still enjoy your holiday? I share my tips!

The weather on Ibiza during the year

Ibiza has a Mediterranean climate with normally just 60 days of rain per year. The summer is usually very dry, with even a water shortage problem… So in June, July and August you will usually not get any rain at all.

September has often surprised me with storms, so even though it’s lower season (less busy and cheaper), take that into account. Usually the months November and December are still very ‘after summer’.

Winter on the island is not too cold (like 15 degrees) but definitely comes with clouds and rain. In the 2025/2026 low season there have been heavy storms with damage from floods and strong wind, mainly around Ibiza town.

The good thing about this island is that when it rains it usually rains heavily for a short time. After that the sky clears up and you can enjoy the beach including a beautiful sunset. Ánd it’s very dependent on your location.

So that would already be my first tip when you experience rain during your holiday: take the car and drive around, because it’s possible that the north has rain and the south has sun!

Even though I definitely don’t enjoy rain myself and Ibiza definitely looks most beautiful when it’s sunny, it can look cool with a stormy sky too. So try to surrender to it as it’s sad to let it impact your holiday mood too much.

Luckily there’s also activities that you can enjoy on a rainy day:
